Diane Linn Garaway
In the first quiet moment of May 28th, in the year of our Lord, 2014, Diane Linn Garaway completed the final pages of her earthly life. She was the daughter of Douglas George Linn and Helen Christine Tomrop, and is survived by Bill Garaway, her faithful husband of forty-one years, along with seven children, twenty-three grand-children, four siblings, and countless others who knew and loved her. She joins the one grandson whom she never had a chance to know on this side of glory.
In Diane’s final weeks and months, she even more profoundly exhibited those graces which were her greatest strengths in life. Through pain and trial, her thoughts were first on others. She was a picture of peace and patience, radiant with faith, freed by humility, overflowing with love and joy, forgiven and forgiving—a glorious image of both our Lord, and His bride.
Those who loved her gathered around the threshing floor as our Lord slowly gathered her home, and while she was peaceful, the process was not. But through the Father’s rough kindness, her chaff fell away. Her dross was burned to nothing. Where there are no more tears, where pain and death hold no sway, Diane’s voice now joins in with those around the throne of her Savior. She has flown. She has sailed. She has become the woman she was always meant to be.
May we who follow be as faithful as she. Amen.
